Peer Review

Manuscripts submitted to the ARCHITECTURE AND ENVIRONMENT OF THE CHILD journal undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure their scientific and editorial quality. The detailed steps are as follows:

  1. Initial Submission:
Authors must submit their manuscripts exclusively through the ASJP platform, referring to the Author's Guide section to ensure compliance with the submission guidelines. Upon receipt, each manuscript undergoes an initial screening by the editorial team to assess its relevance to the journal's scope and adherence to formal requirements (format, structure, etc.). Concurrently, the manuscript is subjected to an originality check using specialized plagiarism detection software. The acceptable similarity index must be less than 20%. If the similarity index exceeds this threshold, the manuscript will be rejected by the Editor-in-Chief. The outcome of this step, whether favorable or unfavorable, will be communicated to the authors via the ASJP platform.

  2. Peer Review:
If the manuscript meets the initial criteria, it is forwarded to two independent reviewers from the scientific committee. The review process adheres to the double-blind system, ensuring anonymity for both authors and reviewers.

  3. Evaluation Criteria:
Reviewers assess the manuscript based on detailed criteria concerning content (originality, scientific quality, relevance of findings, etc.) and form (clarity, adherence to editorial guidelines). Their verdict may fall into one of the following categories:

    • Acceptable without revisions.
    • Acceptable with minor revisions.
    • Acceptable with major revisions.
    • Rejected.
The results of this evaluation, along with the reviewers’ comments, will be communicated to the authors through the ASJP platform.
  4. Conflict Resolution:
In cases of disagreement between the two reviewers, a third reviewer is appointed to provide an additional assessment. The decision of the third reviewer is considered final.

  5. Notification of Decisions:
Authors of rejected manuscripts will receive a notification via the ASJP platform, including detailed reasons provided by the reviewers supporting the decision.

  6. Revision and Resubmission:
If a manuscript is accepted with conditions (minor or major revisions), authors must submit a revised version within the given timeframe. The revised manuscript will undergo further evaluation to ensure that all required changes have been implemented satisfactorily.

  7. Preparation for Publication:
Once a manuscript is approved for publication, it undergoes a stylistic review to conform to the journal’s editorial standards. The journal reserves the right to make stylistic or formal modifications to the text before publication.

  8. Copyright Agreement:
By submitting a manuscript, authors implicitly agree to the journal’s copyright terms and conditions.

  9. Final Decision:
The ultimate decision regarding publication lies solely with the Editor-in-Chief, and this decision is final and non-negotiable.
