This study is based on the hypothesis that local wheat production is unable to cover the population's food requirements, which has led to a decline in self-sufficiency rates and a widening food gap. The study found that the food security components available in Jordan are insufficient to improve it, especially in light of the shrinking agricultural areas, which led to a decline in domestic production, which in turn led to a rise in Jordan's imports of basic consumer goods, mainly wheat.
