Abstract

The teacher is the cornerstone of the educational process. Effective education cannot be achieved without a competent teacher. Perhaps the most important role a teacher plays is imparting knowledge, developing skills, and guiding learners, in addition to motivating them to learn and achieve academic success. This demonstrates that the teacher's role is not limited to the cognitive aspect, but extends beyond it to educational guidance and psychological support for learners.

The competence of the teacher is considered one of the fundamental factors determining the quality of education, and this quality encompasses many aspects. A competent teacher can convey information clearly, use distinct and diverse teaching strategies that take individual differences into account, and evaluate their performance. Given the rapid transformations in the scientific and technological fields, it has become necessary to continuously develop teachers' competencies through professional training and education. This enables them to keep pace with educational developments and meet the evolving needs of learners. This contributes to improving the quality of education and achieving its desired goals. The more qualified and self-developed the teacher is, the more effective and efficient the education system will be.

And It is not hidden from us that achieving educational quality in Islamic science curricula cannot be realized without the continuous development of the teacher's competence qualifications, according to a foundational vision inspired by the religious texts and their ethical and methodological dimensions. This is because a university professor in Islamic sciences is not merely a transmitter of texts, but also an educator, guide, and innovator who combines knowledge and character, foundational principles and renewal, as well as education and contemporaneity, thus becoming the cornerstone in achieving high-quality higher education that produces competent individuals who carry the messages of moderate Islam to the world.
