The research discusses the problem of authority, its role and functions within the framework of the rule of the system of the righteous state. It began by giving a concept to it among scholars, ancient and modern, and monitoring the most important justifications for its existence. The research also clarified the meaning of authority among theorists and specialists, which concluded that it is an institution representing the institution of the righteous state, working on the policy of the people according to the teachings of the Islamic religion, and managing their worldly interests. This authority has types and functions, and that these types are completely independent, to avoid what could constitute tyranny in some of its circles. The research concluded with the necessity of restricting authority under the system of righteous rule, considering that it is an exercise of power. Thus, we can easily and objectively imagine the existence of authority under the banner of a righteous state.
