Orientalism as a movement and a scientific phenomenon has occupied researchers’ thinking due to its great impact on the intellectual system and in order to learn about this movement and its developments, the work of the oriental institutions and their findings must be tracked through various means and methods to date.
Through their efforts and various activities undertaken in the study of the Eastern world in general and Islam in particular, the oriental schools of all kinds have established institutions to pursue their activities in Europe, the French school was it one of the most important school in Europe and one of the oldest one in the east that’s why it was important to highlight it through this paper, we will also try to learn about the role played by the French school in the development of the orientalist movement in old and recent times, and the extent to which it contributes to the goals and objectives of Orientalism through its characteristics, the most important pioneers of this school and achievements reflecting their vision of the East in particular.
