Abstract

With the disappearance of the Ottoman rule in Eastern Europe, the change of its system of government to communist rule and the division of the legacy of the sick man - the Ottoman Empire - religious persecution against Muslims began, and arbitrary measures were applied against them as a leftover of the Ottomans.

Hence our choice of the topic of the situation of Muslims in Eastern Europe came after the fall of the Ottoman Caliphate between accumulations of the past and the problems of the present, to shed light on these Muslims in this part of the land, the region of Eastern Europe in general and the Balkan region in particular.

This study concluded that European hostility towards the Ottoman Empire and Eastern European Muslims is severe, and that Islam is rooted in the hearts of Muslims there, despite the malicious campaigns and plans that targeted and target them to this day, and despite international negligence, which has contributed to legitimizing the policy of ethnic cleansing of East European Muslims.
