Abstract

Since ancient times, man knew worship and religion, It's the human nature that makes him feel weak in front of the other creators, they possessed many beliefs and practiced some religious rites then embodied it in different forms, for example, we find semantic preliminary excavations of religious thinking of Neolithic person embodied in the drawing forms on the rocks and caves as the dominant form that reached us and clarified the intellectual and religious quantities of the prehistoric man. The Algerian desert contains a lot of archaeological features that emphasizes the deep relationship between humans and the natural environment that prevailed in the Neolithic period, one of these features, the inscriptions and the painted rocks which is scattered across the Algerian desert, especially Tassili and Hogar which dated thousand years ago, for instance all the studies about the inscriptions and rock drawings that dealt with Tassili agreed that it was the meeting place of the ancient humanitarian civilizations, as an evidenced the presence of archaeological sites indicate the continuity of civilization in the region. The beginnings of the human settlement dated by 6000 BC. (ie, in the Neolithic period) based on the inscriptions and rock drawings history, therefore, this is what made it as a key to a great civilization, including the central Sahara, and its influence spread to other African parts during the prehistoric period. Because art is the main criterion for the development of societies as a result of taper the human mind, they used it in the first attempts to portray their life and thought on of cave's walls and rocks ,this is the situation of the various graphics Tassili's area, that’s why we are going to question about the features of religious thought of this man through the scenes of rock paintings and comparing these mentality scenes of primitive peoples with our modern time to get results under this regard, and this is what will answer through this study.
