Abstract

Environmental upgrading is an approach pursued by economic enterprises in the field of environmental protection, in order to upgrade their environmental performance in a competitive environment that depends on including environmental considerations within economic practices.

This research paper aims to highlight the importance of environmental upgrading in economic enterprises’ works and activities in order to reduce the current environmental problems, according to global environmental standards, by adopting a descriptive and analytical approach, as the primary goal of environmental upgrading is to conserve natural resources and rationalize their consumption, and thus protect the environment.
