Abstract

In this article, we focus on the playground which is the place of relaxation and distraction for students. In this space, they seek to satisfy their different needs : physiological, psycological, and motor. Take care of these needs allows the child to develop physically and mentally. This development, although it is genetically programmed, depends on the quality of the experiences and the quality of the recreational area. The research in this field, including studies on the playground, allowed to affirm that improving the quality of that space by the diversification of plants elements influence on the quality of children's play. In Algeria, the majority of schools are devoid of any development and especially the absence of the vegetal element. They are often mineralized surfaces in asphalt or concrete without green spaces, surrounded by a massive fence. In this work, we review the importance of the introduction of vegetation in schools and especially in their playgrounds. The playground greening could contribute to improving the quality of external school spaces , but also to improve the school's image as an educational and entertaining space
