Abstract

Worldwide, for more than half a century, the way of life has been mainly based on oil income (linked to fossil deposits, etc.), but this politico-economic choice associated with demographic growth and an evolution of urban area have created an increased demand for energy.

However, these fossil fuels have largely demonstrated their harmful, and polluting effects and impacts on the atmosphere, the environment, the sustainability of biodiversity and the health of the planet. Thus, and following the context of the disruption in oil prices, oil producers find themselves faced with multiple challenges and threats related to their economic stability, hence the reduction in energy demand, the ecological footprint and of dependence on fossil fuels have immediately become an imperious and absolute necessity.

This paper is a literature review that analyzes and synthesizes thirty articles, divided between real experimental studies and simulations on physical and energy renovations, and the integration of home automation technologies, with the aim of extracting their energy and environmental impact, and the factors related to the various improvement measures through the results obtained from each case studied, and then deduce their synergistic effect on an existing built environment.
