This research aims to identify essential methods that help improve the quality of life in a particular urban environment in Medina, in light of the slum quarter problems, and an attempt to treat these problems from a formal aspect that aims to remove visual distortions. However, these interventions don’t deal with the public services or helps improve the quality of life according to the lifestyle and living standards indicated in the body of this research. This problem is exacerbated by the spread of residential slums in the area of Mount Uhud, the negative impact on it, and the conflict with the concepts of preserving the historical memory of the place and its environmental surroundings. Therefore, it becomes necessary to define the concepts of quality and present them as a guide to enlighten the decision maker in rehabilitation projects, including various dimensions that affect the human, historical and cultural aspects. The methodological approach has focused on documentation of research and articles on this topic while gathering information on the field due to the lack of relevant studies and researches. The researcher relied on reading the official documents, plans, tables, instructions and results of their application in the existing situation, explaining the contradictions that indicate methodological problems in the implementation process of the projects. The research concludes with recommendations that include concepts that help understand the essential objectives of the document recently approved by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing and how to apply the urban standards in the field.
