Abstract

The historical Algerian literature varied according to the issues, problems and desired goals they dealt with So various writers appeared concerned with the history of al-Maghrib al-Awsat (the Middle Maghrib) – Algeria in the middle period - and its many issues.

It included what was a foundation stone in this historical field. The literature also includes sound academic writings that formed part of the historical Algerian doctrine.

This research paper deals with al-Maghrib al-Awsat from historical literature and Algerian researchers to evaluate the achievement in this historical field. This achievement extends to ten continuous centuries from the Islamic conquest, to the fall of zianid state.
