Abstract

The book "al-muntazim fi tarikh al'umam walmuluk"by Ibn al-Jawzi (d. 597 AH / 1201 CE) is considered one of the most important historical and cultural sources for writing Islamic history in general, and also for writing the local history of the capital of the Abbasid Caliphate, Baghdad, and its parallel cities such as Mosul, and others. The historian Ibn al-Jawzi (Jamal al-Din Abu al-Faraj Abd al-Rahman bin Ali bin Muhammad) al-Baghdadi, in the contents of his book, is the scientific connections between Baghdad and others. During all historical periods, and standing on the purposes of Ibn Al-Jawzi by mentioning what was written specifically according to his doctrine, and according to the nature of the government parallel to the Abbasid rule, Considering that Baghdad has gone through periods of Persian domination, and another Turkish one, ethnically and sectarian, then there was succession between Sunnis and Shiism in its branches, which generated sectarian conflict.

And from my follow-up to the content of "al-Muntazim’s" book with a theoretical and applied study at the same time, I found in what he mentioned of “deaths” a mention of the notables of Mosul who had their scientific role in Baghdad, noting that there are links of influence and influence between the two parties, through scientific production, either in the science of hadith or Linguistics, grammar, and others, and it contains an addition to the biography of the historian Ibn al-Jawzi and the biography of his sheikhs, and if the information seems scarce, its historical reading expands its implications.
