Abstract

Tanqih al-Tahqiq" by Ibn Abd al-Hadi is considered a distinguished school of criticism, in which he shifted the Hadith material from mere jurisprudential inference to precise objective investigation. His methodology of "Istidrak" (rectification) excelled through verifying narrators' names, connecting broken chains of transmission, and attributing Hadiths to their original sources. His brilliance in "Ta'aqqub" (tracking/critique) was evident in exposing the methodological contradictions of Ibn al-Jawzi, whether in judging narrators or identifying hidden defects (Ilal) in Hadiths. The author did not stop at description; rather, he presented rigorous practical models that prioritized Hadith principles over sectarian biases, achieving a balance between textual criticism and deep chain analysis. Thus, this research represents an insightful vision of how "Al-Tanqih" was transformed into a tool for renewing Hadith sciences and purging them of misconceptions and inconsistencies.
