The reformist school of Sheikh “Sidi Muhammad bin Omar bin Muhammad Belhaj Al-Majawi,” or as it is called the reformist school of Al-Huwaisi, is another one of the schools that opened its doors to the Algerian people, whom the French colonial administration thought had destroyed the components of their national identity, especially when it organized that centenary celebration. That is, a century after the occupation of Algeria, we see that the school has intensified its awareness-raising activity, especially after the year 1930.
Al-Huwaisi School in the Ramshi area is considered one of the main bases in the reform movement in the Tlemcen region, as the Majawi family formed one of the pillars of this religious reform in the region. The scholar Sheikh “Al-Hibri Al-Majjawi” was one of the pillars of these pillars, as this represented an insurmountable obstacle to the projects of the colonial administration, so he was one of the latter. However, his scientific reform activity was restricted, but despite that, the reform activity did not stop in the region, as the scholars of the Al-Huwaisi School worked on spreading awareness-raising thought among the students and people of the region, and as Sheikh Yakhlef Al-Bu’anani said: "It represented a center of intellectual awareness-raising."
