This research aims to give a definition to salutogenic perspective, its model, the fundamental role of its core component the sense of coherence, in health. It explores how the sense of coherence contributes to improving therapeutic adherence in children with chronic disease. This study begins by outlining the theoretical background of the salutogenesis, and clarifying the interactive role of the sense of coherence within this model. It also examines the pathways through which the sense of coherence influences health and how these pathways can be utilized to design salutogenic-based interventions. The research focuses intervention mechanisms that enhance the sense of comprehensibility, manageability, and meaningfulness, demonstrating how these mechanisms contribute to improving therapeutic adherence. Additionally, it discusses strategies for enhancing therapeutic adherence by applying salutogenesis through approaches that strengthen the sense of coherence. The study highlights how fostering a strong sense of coherence can positively impact adherence to treatment. Finally, this research offers recommendations for researchers and healthcare practitioners on effectively applying the salutogenic model to improve the therapeutic adherence in children with chronic diseases.
