The research aims to clarify the concept of piety (taqwa) in the Islamic canon, highlighting the distortions that have confused its meaning in people's minds. It seeks to uncover the true essence of piety according to the texts of revelation, as well as the insights of both early and later Islamic thinkers. The study addresses the following questions: What is the definition of piety linguistically and terminologically? What does this term signify in the foundational texts of Islam, including the Quran and Sunnah? What disruptions have occurred regarding this concept that have hindered the Islamic community from achieving its aspirations for revival and cultural presence?
