The particularity of Malek Bennabi comes from the difficulty of classifying him among the serious projects whose only concern was the advancement of the Arab and Islamic nation so that it regains its place among civilized nations. He is an eminent thinker who drew on Western heritage and lived Western civilization in all its negative aspects, consisting of its colonization of peoples; and positive represented by what it presented to its people and to the world regarding undeniable civilizational achievements. But at the same time, he remained faithful to his Islamic intellectual training which marked his whole project of renaissance : the aim remains to systematically invent new precisely intercultural communication systems guaranteeing the perpetual cohabitation of civilizations and even cultures. This brief presentation of the importance of Malek Bennabi among the currents of social reform tries to evaluate his intellectual production with a critical and objective approach in order to shed light on his thought and give a brief overview of his intellectual traininh and his position vis- vis-à-vis the Arab-Islamic renaissance projects
