The role of the media and communication in the conduct of juvenile delinquents

Abstract

Juvenile delinquency is a social phenomenon that threatens the entity and stability of societies, and is among the phenomena that have attracted the attention of many researchers in various fields, especially in recent years as a result of the widespread dissemination of information and communication technology and the diversity of its means between audiovisual and audiovisual in the world's societies in general and Arab societies in particular, which have brought about value and cultural changes that vary between positive and negative, both psychologically and socially, behavioural, emotional, cognitive and cultural.

This new technology, which has provided the Internet, mobile phone, mobile audio and visual means and other modern technologies and the changes it has brought with it, has greatly affected human life, behavior, communication and interaction, and has changed the way of thinking and the way it interacts with different topics and attitudes. This change may be evident in some of the behaviours of juveniles who have deviated towards delinquency by adopting new methods of implementing and dealing with delinquency and crimes. Traditional deviations based on confrontation, methods of violence and force and simple instruments have receded to be replaced by other types of modern methods and techniques that make it easier for the individual to undertake and seek to learn the techniques and techniques that he finds available to him in various means of communication, and more than attracted by these techniques, the category of juveniles who use such a large number of modern means.

   Through this article, we aim to highlight the role of the media and communication in teaching and acquiring deviant and delinquent behaviour of juveniles and demonstrating its dangers to the individual and society.
