Coordination is one of the cohesive devices in the Arabic language. It links sentences within the text both by using and withaut using words. Coordination stands out from the rest of cohesive devices, such as reference, omission, substitution as well as coherence in that it does not refer to what comes before and after it. It rather connects two consecutive sentence in the text construction process. Further, coordination has a number of types that differ from each other in terms of either the method of connection (by word or by significance), or the function in speech. For the sake of demonstrating the role of coordination in the text, the present work relies on samples from the holy book «Kora'an», considering the fact that it is the most coherent text in Arabic. The Kora'an is also very rich in terms of cohesive devices, especially coordination, which can be found in almost every verse.
