Iraq has entered a new phase of its history after the revolution of July 14, 1958. Significant changes had taken place to the internal and external policy, as the new Republican regime announced the antagonism of colonialism and imperialism, and the support of the oppressed nations. The government has also taken a new policy towards the Kurds and they allowed them to issue Kurdish newspapers. Thus, the Khabat newspaper / struggle (1959-1961) speaking on behalf of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, one of the most prominent Iraqi newspapers during the study phase. The newspaper supported the foreign policy of the state after its issuance, and expressed the Kurdistan Democratic Party, pro-government policy stance toward the Algerian case. The newspaper paid great attention to transfer, analyze and show opinion on various political and military developments in Algeria. The newspaper was an important source of inspiration to inform the Iraqi citizen in general and Kurdish ones in particular on how things are going in Algeria.
