The current study investigates the foreign policy of the General Union of Algerian Workers which was aimed at internationalizing the Algerian case in order to obtain its political and material support. Based on a realistic and pragmatic policy that maintains relations with all trade unionscentres in the world -regardless of their ideological affiliations especially those who show a willingness to support the struggle of the Algerian people. The universal federation of trade unions was one of the channels that attracted the attention of the Union despite its early involvement in the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions which seems to have succeeded to a large extent in this strategy (policy) by gaining honorable political stands and a significant material support from the global federalism of trade unions.
