Abstract

The study aims to divulge the thought of the scholar Mohamed Ben Al-Hasan Al-Hajouiconcerning the purposes of jurisprudence, based on his well-known book (Noble Thought in the History of Islamic Jurisprudence). In this treatise we find him delving in multiple purpose-related issues, following his predecessors. He elaborated a set of rules for this art. Rules that promise to give it a prestigious status among contemporary scholars that specialize in this field, such as Ibn Ashour and Allal Al-Fassi and others. The paper also aims to discuss a range of his justifications for jurisprudence provisions that show his competence in Islamic laws and a command of its rules.
