The study investigated the relationship between Cognitive emotional regulation and the Alexithymia at patient’s somatic symptoms disorder. To achieve the objectives of study a Toronto Alexithymia scale(TAS 20) ,and the Cognitive Emotional Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ) wear used to measure levels of alexithymia and the type of Cognitive Emotional Regulation The sample of the study consisted of 60 patients with somatic symptoms disorder ( Ulcers, Blood pressure ,Rheumatism ,IBS ) selected intentional ; Used the descriptive correlation approach. The results of the study indicated: - that patient’s Alexithymia degree was moderate to low in the total sample. - The Cognitive Emotional Regulation adaptive dimension ( acceptance, positive refocusing, refocus on planning)is predominate vs. the Cognitive Emotional Regulation non-adaptive( self-blame, other-blame, catastrophising). - The significant positive correlation between Cognitive emotional regulation and the Alexithymia at patient’s somatic symptoms disorder.
