Abstract

This paper seeks to shed light on Al Imam Taher Bin Ashur’s empirical concept of innateness. In order to accomplish this, the method ofterminological studies, which proved to be most suitable, was used. It led to the conclusion that innateness holds a paramount importance in the imam’s thought as a pivotal concept for any understanding of religion and its ends. In addition to that, innateness is regarded as a guarantor for the continuity of Islam and the validity of its legislation for all humankind, across the world, and at all times. By the same token, scholars should take this concept into account when working on promulgating religious instructions.
