This research aims to shed light on the sectarian and scientific life in the Aghlabid state and to know the Islamic thought prevailing in the Maghreb at that time by mentioning the scholars who emerged in various sciences, whether legal or medical, and others.
Using the descriptive historical method because it is the most appropriate in describing historical events, the events of the conflict and its sequence, and presenting texts to benefit from in the research, in addition to the analytical method, we used it in what should be analyzed within the subject, and the systematic investigation of the various information that dealt with this topic, and the analysis of the many points of view that were presented. In history books and biographies about the Aghlabid state.
The following results were reached: The Aghlabid state was among the states that established in the Islamic Maghreb, and the sectarian conflict between the Hanafis and the Malikis played a major role in the deterioration of the economic aspect in this state.
