The Contributions of Zouaoua's Scholars in Serving the Holy Quran and its Qirā'āt Sheikh Shalati as a Model

Abstract

The Zawawa region and since its introduction to Islam is famous for its great interest in the book of Allah Almighty; the Learning and teaching of Quran, its reading and recitation as well as the authoring about it. The research aims to highlight the status of this ancient Algerian region in this field by shedding light on an important figure from it, namely: Mohamed Bin Ali Al-Sharif Al-Shalati; who contributed greatly to the service of the Book of God Almighty and its Qirā'āt. Thanks to the scientific tradition he established in his Zāwiyah, which remained vivid for three centuries. It was described as the mother of all Zāwiyahs in Algeria; and it was said that the one who has not learn Quran in Shalaata's Zāwiyah is incomplete.
