Abstract

This study aims to know the extent of librarians of Algerian university libraries and their knowledge of the ethics of their profession, as well as to determine the extent of their commitment to it in their work environment. The study questionnaire was formulated by extrapolating the library profession ethics codes that are internationally and Arably dependent on the descriptive approach. Among the most important findings of the study is that there is limited knowledge of the ethics of the library profession by libraries of Algerian university libraries, and their commitment to its principles and terms is very limited and depends on their personal culture on the issue of duties and professional rights.
