Analytical study of the crime defamation under the provisions of the Media Law No. 12-05

Abstract

This paper aims to study the crime of defamation, which is considered to be crimes against honor and consideration of the persons being. In particular, with claims of responsibility having increased significantly in recent years .

In this research, we have found that there are considerable efforts by the Algerian legislature under the recent amendment of the Information Act to deal with this crime, through the tightening of the penalties.
We have also noted that there are many shortcomings and contradictions, and that there is no coordination between the Penal Code and the Media Act, which we will look at in the search.
