Despite Quebec and France are experiencing a significant demographic decline which adds to the weakened economic structure due to the lack of manpower. Immigration is therefore seen as an essential recourse that deals with both the lack of manpower and demographic decline. In the early 1970s, when the world was experiencing one of its worst economic crises, the vision of Quebec and France diverged by taking measures equivalent to the complete cessation of economic immigration on the French side and to restructuring of selection methods for Quebec. Hence the importance of our topic, as we will try to understand the impacts of this shift on the quality of employment of immigrants by examining performance in the two different immigration systems. The article thus attempts to answer several questions, such as the ability of immigration policies to attract better immigrants. What role of immigration policy in the difficulties that immigrants recognize in the labor market? To try to answer these questions, we will start straight away with the historical presentation of the two policies in question, and then we will address the quality of employment of foreign nationals in these two countries through very quantitative factors, namely the rate. unemployment, earnings as well as areas of employment. Lastly, we will draw up a comparative report and then conclude with recommendations and possible solutions.
