Environmental taxes are one of the most important economic methods adopted to reduce the volume of environmental pollution, and one of the mechanisms of embodying the principle of the polluting motive in its deterrent form, by holding polluters responsible for their polluting activities and obligating them to repair the damage caused by them.The environmental dimension of sustainable development at the local level by directing the behavior of polluters harmful to the environment towards friendly activities.
The proceeds of environmental fees at the local level, on the one hand, are used to treat environmental damage caused by polluted facilities, and on the other hand, to achieve sustainable development.
