Legal mechanisms to combat fake news during the Corona crisis

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the measures taken by the Algerian state in order to fight the terrible spread of the fake news in all areas during the Corona crisis, with the aim of preserving societal security and public order, as it dealt with defining the scope of the concept of the fake news and its characteristics during the crisis, using the ethnographic method to determie the most important rumors that sppread in this period, and the dangerous repercussions it produced.

Through an extrapolation and analysis of the various procedures and measures that have been implemented at the level of administrative and legislative seizure, and their manifestations on the reality of the crisis and its circumstances, the study concluded that the strategy adopted by the state was not able to permanently eliminate the phenomenon of the spread of the fake news, but rather contributed to restricting it and reducing the size of the negative effects resulting from it.
