Abstract

Since the fall of the Soviet Union, maintaining the superiority of the United States in a unipolar system has been the dominant grand strategic goal of every administration, one of the issues that became a source of concern the American decision-maker is whether America can escape the same fate that befell the former superpowers. This study seeks to investigate the fate of American hegemony, especially in light of the rise of other powers, in addition to answering a number of questions that are of great interest to researchers, the most important of which is the ongoing debate about the future of power balances and transformations in the international system. In its analysis, the study is based on identifying the first milestones of America that enabled it to establish its domination over the world, theories of international relations and its vision of American hegemony. it concludes that talking about the rising powers, and whether American hegemony is in decline or not.
