Abstract

This study addresses the problem of the objective formulation of media content in the Algerian written press, by tracing the impact of the ownership of press institutions on the style of editing media content, and the extent of their commitment to the values and standards of media practice. Where we shed light in this research paper through the study sample on the design of the news policy of these institutions and hence their impact on the media content industry, and we proceeded from the hypothesis that the ownership of press institutions affects the objective formulation of the edited media content. Conducting such a study requires following the media economics approach as one of the most important modern approaches in media studies, with the use of the questionnaire tool in collecting field information from the institutions of the study sample:El_khaber ,Alchaabe , Sawt Al-ahrar. This study concluded that the ownership of press institutions greatly affects the news content directed to the recipients, even to varying degrees from one institution to another, especially with regard to taking into account the different interests Journalists or institutions as a whole and the extent of their commitment to objectivity through media practices
