Abstract

This article deals with the study of the reality of bank savings for the Algerian consumer and its impact on his behavior towards consumer loans and installment stores, through a field study in the city of Batna, This study aims to provide a theoretical understanding of the concepts related to bank savings, consumer behavior, consumer loans, and installment sales services.

The study reached a number of important results, including: that bank savings for Algerian families is below the acceptable level compared to traditional saving outside banks, and also the level of demand for bank loans and installment stores is weak and as an exception in special cases only, Also, Algerian consumers prefer the services of installment stores over consumer loans from banks in all cases, with the exception of resorting to bank consumer loans when the desired goods are absent in the installment stores.
