This research aims to try to give a vision of an official government digital currency as an alternative to virtual digital currencies, which has witnessed a great expansion due to the tremendous and accelerating technological and knowledge development, which affected even the financial and banking sector. In this research, it was relied on the descriptive and analytical approach in order to scrutinize the mechanisms of the work of digital currencies economically and doctrinally, while removing the cover for defects and high risks that will harm the overall economy and the economies of the world in the future. In the end, it became clear to us the need to compel countries and governments to speed up the issuance of legal, official digital currencies under the supervision and supervision of their central banks.
