The National Council for the Algerian Revolution - Path and Challenges - (1956-1962)

Abstract

This historical study aims to clarify the course of the National Council for the Algerian Revolution and the various challenges it faced throughout its period of activity (1956-1962), by shedding light on the circumstances that required holding its successive sessions (Cairo - Tripoli sessions), in line with the political and military developments that the liberation revolution witnessed. Through this research paper, we reached a number of results, the most important of which is that despite the divergent positions and periodic conflicts between its military (EMG) and executive political (GPRA) authorities, it has agreed in the end to achieve its ultimate goal of the cease-fire decision.
