Water resources management strategy in Algeria Towards sustainable development.

Abstract

Water is the most important natural resource at all as it essential for human life and well-being; despite its distinctive characteristics, its scarcity makes it an economic commodity must be exploited based on viable practical economic principles in this regard, and the balance between the economic costs of water and the benefits derived from its use is highlighted as one of the important aspects of water economics and demand management , Algeria is one of the countries facing water scarcity crisis, which is a major challenge to its economic growth despite the diversity of its water resources and geographical location, but the rapid population growth and the high pace of which increased pressure on water resources, faced with this situation, specialists and some decision makers had to manage this crisis through an effective strategy to raise efficiency of utilization, rationalize the exploitation of water management for agriculture, industry In addition, household needs, and ensuring water sustainability in Algeria ,and in front of the efforts made by the state to achieve the efficiency of the sector which has actually proven its limitation , therefore, through this research , we formulated a strategy to rationalize the exploitation of water resources in Algeria
