Abstract

This study titled « the impact of foreign direct investment on the tourism sector’s employment in the Maghreb countries (Algeria, Tunisia, and Morocco)» aims to shed light the reality of FDI in these countries and its involvement in job creation within the sector of tourism. In order to address the research problem, both, the descriptive and analytical approaches have been used to analyse the reality of FDI and tourism in the Maghreb countries , and look into the research problem’s different aspects and dimensions with a view to explore the contribution of FDI to job creation in those countries.
In this context, firstly, the study discusses the analysis of foreign direct investment flows in the Maghreb countries. Secondly, it presents the reality of tourism in the Maghreb countries. Finally, this paper presents the contribution of foreign direct investment to employment in the tourism sector in the Maghreb countries. Concluded that foreign direct investment contributed to creating jobs in the tourism sector in the Maghreb countries, but the share of this contribution is modest in Algeria and Tunisia compared to Morocco.
