Abstract

Political participation is considered one of the most important indicators of development and good governance in society, as it is not possible to talk about development without touching on the issue of political participation, at the same time it is not possible to talk about development without exposure to the role of women and their contribution to them through the channels of political participation, where the degree of women's participation reflects positively In development policies as representing more than half of society. Although some Arab countries granted women their political and civil rights, their participation is still characterized by absenteeism and weakness, as the representation of women remained low in Arab parliaments compared to their counterparts in Western countries, and this is due to many obstacles that impede the process of women's struggle to achieve consistent political participation With its population ratio in these societies. Algeria is considered among the countries that worked to embody the political participation of women in political life, through a set of legal and legislative frameworks that led to changing the reality in which women were living, as women had a voice of an important role, as they headed the various ministries and political departments and the leadership of the army In the security, judiciary and higher education corps, and at the head of economic institutions.
