In the last two decades, the Eastern Mediterranean region has undergone radical changes and transformations that will establish a new paradigm and reorient the pattern in international relations, reflecting on international interactions in its cooperative and conflicting aspects. The causes of the conflict are no longer limited to ideological variations or theoretical frameworks that traditional theories have introduced in international relations, such as disparities in relative or physical capacities, or the satisfaction element with the place in the international system put forward by Organski in his theory of power shifting to energy sources, which are determinants of the causes of geopolitical conflicts among many international and regional actors in the Eastern Mediterranean.
