Local Governance Performance Index (Development )Performance from a Citizen's Perspective

Abstract

 This article aims at shedding light on one of the modern and innovative mechanisms in the field of evaluating the local governance and activating and sustaining development at the local level. This relates to the Local Governance Performance Index (LGPI) designed and implimented by « the program on governance and development » funded by the Norwegian and Swedish scientific Research concils. The importance of the topic lies in knowing the key role of the local governance performance index in promoting sustainable development at the local level and achieving the global goals of sustainable development by examining the experiences of local communities and drawing their experiences and differences in local governance and development patterns in various areas (governance, education, health, , Security, etc.) and research solutions to the challenges faced by development in these communities.
