The Role Of Environmental Planning In Integrating The Environmental Dimension And Promoting Sustainable Development In Algeria

Abstract

There is a growing need to endogenize environmental dimension in planning processes in order to lay out an effective regime for environmental protection. This is imposed both by the increasing risks and the global engagement in sustainable development agenda. Algerian policymakers have systematically responded to this challenge; as they adapted legislations make planning environmentally friendly. This vision aims at protecting environmental resources; preserving ecological equilibrium and preventing any damage to environment while trying to boost the economy.
