Requirements and obstacles in Implementation of Total Quality Management at Higher Education (the Jordan Experience)

Higher education plays a vital role in achieving countries welfare. Because of the world increasing technological progress, adopting new systems, technologies and strategies to enhance the quality in university education institutions becomes the focus of international trends. Due to the importance of the quality of educational services in achieving customer’s satisfaction, this paper aims to shed light on the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) in higher education institutions since it saves time and resources and enhances institutional performance. To reach this objective, a descriptive analytical approach was adopted to show the most important stages and requirements followed by various Jordan universities in order to reach quality and to highlight the encountered challenges.
