Drugs and addiction are among the most important problems facing families and communities, which threaten their being, as a result of their increasing severity by the development of consumption patterns The phenomenon of drugs has been the focus of attention of researchers and scientists in various fields for a long time and is not the product of the hour, but this interest has increased recently and this is the result of a significant increase in the rate of drug abuse rate and prevalence across all walks of life and among different age groups ; and drug addiction has become the cause of many crimes and this is the result of the lack of awareness of the addict. Psychologists and sociologists have been interested in studying the phenomenon of drugs and addiction, because psychological factors and characteristics in addition to the social environment in some cases and in some people crystallized the behavior of abuse and drug addiction. Through this article, we seek to highlight the psychological and social dimensions of drug addiction while highlighting the various treatments offered to drug addicts.
