The objective of the herein study is to emphasize the importance of the Arab Maghreb Union from the standpoint of the Algerian foreign policy, and this by taking into account the fact that the geographical extent of the Algerian state and its cultural and socio-economic heritage as well as its security agenda, gives it an important geo-strategic role in making the Arab Maghreb Union operational by intensifying cooperation and inter-coordination and working towards ending the current Libyan crisis, without omitting to mention the resolution of the Algerian-Moroccan disputes, and the need to overcome the various regional and international challenges and issues. Our research has been developed according to a clear and complementary methodological approach, and this through the use of appropriate theoretical methods and approaches, including descriptive, historical and comparative approaches, as well as important approaches in this type of research, notably; role theory, systems theory and realism theory, which are considered to be the most appropriate theoretical approaches. These methods and approaches have allowed us to achieve results related to the current relations between Algeria and Maghreb countries as well as to make the Arab Maghreb Union operational in the light of accelerating territorial and international transformations and challenges that are extremely complex.
