Abstract

This descriptive analytical study aims to identify some demographic health indicators, such as deaths, births and maternal deaths, recorded in the wilaya of Batna for the year 2021, in addition to identifying the health needs of the public sector, such as structures, and medical and specialized human resources, available with the identification of existing deficiencies and the estimation of needs that must be provided to cover the health Maternal and develop it The study showed that the wilaya of Batna has recorded an alarming increase in the maternal mortality rate. As for the administrative structures and human resources of health intended to cover the health of women and mothers and despite the existence of an important network spread over all departments and municipalities, there are areas that suffer from a shortage of certain structures and human resources, whether medical or specialized, in addition to the imbalance and equity in the distribution of both structures and human resources in the various regions. Thus, we recommend that those in charge of the health sector reconsider the supply and distribution of health needs and work to eliminate existing deficiencies in order to promote health in general and maternal health in particular.
