This research aims to show the extent of the local community's awareness of the importance of archaeological sites and its role in promoting archaeological tourism, as it is a key player in the tourism process. Some tools of scientific research in the social sciences were used, represented by observation and participation, interview and opinion poll, by applying them to samples from the local community, and the following results were reached: The local community is aware of the importance of the archaeological site for the city and has a tourist awareness that qualifies it to participate in the tourism process. The study suggests working to improve the general appearance of the city by adopting an urban pattern that is compatible with the archaeological site, by conducting renovations and artistic works on the facades of houses in the city, and by involving the local community in the tourism plans for the area.
