Abstract

This study aims to identify sustainable lifestyles adopted by international bodies such as the United Nations to address major environmental issues (climate change, pollution, water scarcity and natural resources, famine and poverty) resulting from the extremely poor consumption and production of natural resources by individuals, which, on the one hand, adversely affects both human health and the earth, and prevents the achievement of sustainable development goals in their economic, social and environmental dimensions to ensure the needs of future generations on the other hand. The study found that sustainable lifestyles are about changing individuals' daily behaviors: what to buy, what to sell, what to eat, how to travel... It is a matter of voluntary replacement of environmentally friendly and community-responsible choices by adopting participatory mechanisms that combine the voluntary will of individuals and groups as well as government bodies, through the adoption of sustainable education systems, sustainable food systems, sustainable buildings and construction methods, sustainable public procurement and sustainable tourism.
