Abstract

In the autumn of 2018, took place a series of demonstrations in France that was named movement of yellow vests. This social movement was the product of various causes, among which the most important were: European integration, economic globalization, tax policy, world economic crisis, and legal or illegal Immigrations. The study assumes that yellow vests movement reflects class inequality and disparity in French society or in others words the protest movement expresses the emergence of new cleavage between the losers and winners of the above factures. The French president Emmanuel Macron took a series of decisions in order to calm the protest movement. This study uses statistical description to validate our hypothesis and among the results of this study is a tax policy of French government that has aggravated inequality between social classes; so the yellow vests has a social and economic nature and the political demands are in reality the demands of activists of extremist parties.
